There are a few elements I've planned to have included in every book of this story, and since chess was such a ubiquitous element in our lives back then, I decided that these little moments over the board would be one of them. As for the others, I'm sure they will reveal themselves in time.
Also, as of yesterday, Pictures of You on DrunkDuck has hit half a million page views. Big thanks to everyone for reading and making this comic more and more successful.
So, Ive sat today, and read the entire comic. It was mildly unsettling how Pictures of You, is like some mad mirror world of the last few years of my life. I find myself in memory drifting from moment to moment, a mixture of Peter and Andy. Always a comment, with a nack for getting into trouble, yet clueless and with the bad habit of thinking too much. Ive found myself sticking faces of the friends Ive had forever, and the ones Ive drifted apart from, to all of them.
Perhaps its because Im around the age of them all, or perhaps its just sheer coincidence that its an eerie parallel to my own life.
From the Quantum Physics talks, to the "Moral High Horse" of recent events, and everything in between, its strange that youve written about everything I know and hold dear, even if they are just shadows of the past.
The larger than life figures that we all knew when. Heroes and Gods of our time, if only in our own mind.
These are the thoughts and memories Ill carry with me forever, and the experiences that mold that which I do every day of my life.
Thank you for making this comic. I know you may not have intended for it to have this impact on people, but It has, and I thank you for it.
I found this a couple of weeks ago and read through the entire archive in one sitting. It's very quickly moved into my top three comics, and inspired me to finally start working on my long-planned project.
Definately worthy of the half-million views, I'm sure there will be many more.
