We've expressed interested in continuing the series or even buying the rights back to continue it with someone else but we've yet to hear anything back. I'm guess IF anything new happens with NS it probably won't be till after some of PS's movie projects like Cowboys and Aliens come out in 2010, 2011 and 2012. NI. -Posted on Jul 08, 2009 | | User: Arnette | | | Sure I am aware of the fact that a success of any work brings comercial credability to your work (putting you and Amy together here, no matter that CTV is "hers"), as I said in the last paragraph of my previous posting-an artist must eat and any printed work is already a great achievemnt!
It's great that Amy is developing her grayscale, still I prefer *her* in colour (as it is ABSOLUTELY amazing). Platinum should stop playing Uncle Scrooge and do the next issue (if any) of NS in colour :P Amy's work is too original an attempting to make it look more manga-like putting it in the greyscale is a crime (criticizing Platinum here)
All in all I love Amy's work, I like yours as well and I wish you both loads of printed work and may you be able to make a living out of it some day!

Almost agrees that it was a mistake to have Amy, an complished artist known for her coloring, switch to greyscale but at the time PS wanted it to look like a normal manga and I suspect they wanted to keep the printing costs down. Printing in color costs up to four times more money they B&W.
This was Amy's first work in greyscale but I think you'll find if you look at her current works she is quite tallented in greyscale too she just wasn't as polished on NS as it was her first time working with it.
Arnette you should realize though success for any of Amy's projects will help CTV in the long run. Currently we lack industry recognition and contacts. A successful comic CTV or otherwise would go a long way toward correcting that and getting CTV into comic shops so we can work on comics full time. -Posted on Jun 17, 2009 | | User: Arnette | | | Well, acctually I quite enjoyed the bonus materials, it is indeed obvious that the whole thing was planned as a long term project.
One thing I wondered: whether the printed version is black/white or is it just the one on wowio, cause this was one of the main reasons behind my hmmm *dislike*(bleh, sloppy English, beg ya pardon). Amy's work looks geat in colour and not so glorious in black&white.
The second reasons for my lack of enthusiasm reagrding this series is my die-hard-fandom for CTV. Since most of the characters here are *cross-species* from there I couldn't help but think of the original characters most of the time.
Still, I apreciate your work, getting a comic book printed is a great achievment indeed, plus an artist must eat ;) I just wish to see more of the webcomic coming... in colour... why not a printed version... will be the first to buy it =^.^= -Posted on Jun 17, 2009 | | User: Evil Emperor Nick | | | You're opinion is your opinion and I'm not going to hold it against you. I stand by our work in the manga as quality, particulary the Nightmare World story arc which I'm both happy with and proud of. That said I agree the web-comic was much higher quality. NS was written to be a long story format rather then a stand alone one-shot, however PS was interested in a 100 page stand alone at the time rather then a long term web comic. To be clear we were free to do a web comic, but PS didn't want to pay for the web comic or to have the web comic printed. So we went ahead and did the stand alone. When you have the money you get to call the shots.
I'll also go on to defend the manga by saying there were lots of small clues in it which would have tied into the web comic had it kept going such as the little bonus piece in the back which relates directly to page 36 which I feel would have made NS more enjoyable for fans had the comic kept going and the connections become clear. -Posted on Jun 16, 2009 | | User: Arnette | | | | Geez...I'm not sure how to put this... I just got my copy of Night School in the mail. It's a great read, and a great story for the Night School universe. I especially love the shout out to Young Frankenstein and the foreshadowing of events to come in the online comic here!

DoodlestheBear: Good question! The Asylum in question in run by the T.C.A. which makes Doctor Melphius a employee of the state. The T.C.A. mandates that a school must have a doctor at least two days a week and while Kojo Academy is a private school it does get some government assistence and must comply to government standards. The T.C.A. simply chose Doctor Melphius to work Kojo Academy two nights a week in order to fulfill their own requirement with approval from Kojo Academy itself. True treating children isn't what he went to med school for but the T.C.A. figures he can handle giving out band aids and lolly pops two nights a week. It is actually fairly hard in the T.C.A. to get people to work nights, there is something of a social stigma to working at night, so the numbher of options for school nurse was rather limited. I hope that answered your question.

Amysmom: Depends on the specific alergy, I have several. Claretine(SP) helps for some but doesn't seem to do much for popcorn and benedril(SP) makes me to sleepy to work for 8 hours a day.
drip: I try and go when no one else is in the theater and if I can't take a benedril(SP) before I go to make sure I don't get ill. That way either the movie is interesting enough to keep me awake or I fall asleep and spare myself the pain. Oddly though microwave popcorn bothers me more then stove top popcorn.
Chameleon: Well they do now. I don't usually advertise it 'cause no one usually eats popcorn at work. I don't know why but it seems like my alergy to unprocessed corn is getting worse.
