XD Wish I wasn't broke... that's nasty. Best I can say is... generally decent prices at Newegg... and if there's one near you Frys and sometimes microcenter. Good luck... If it was able to kill your graphics card, you are definitely gonna want to replace your power-supply. Even if it is bootable I doubt its still within tolerances and could kill other things latter... *sigh* Capacitors. And as for "better surge protector" I recommend a power-regulating UPS, they tend to function as very good surge protectors and offer protection from some other issues. Cost ya round 50-75$... but they make power flickers at most only flicker your internet XD... (such as low voltage, which can kill a power-supply faster than the average surge... although lighting is a bit des-ex-machima) -Posted on Nov 21, 2009

Dang. That sucks. I know how you feel though. My house has legendary lightning attraction characteristics. We've experienced electrical meters literally blowing off the side of the house, in-ground telephone junctions flying through the air and landing in the street, dozens of fried electronics, and several other exploding things. Only one fire so far though, so I guess we are lucky on that. lol. After this happening three times, we decided to just get a whole home surge protector. Its a beast.
