dragonestea on Jan. 24, 2012
Last week was crazy, but looking ahead I think I may actually be able to update on time next week. I wonder what I have to draw next? *checks schedule* A SCENE INSIDE A FRICKIN' CAR?!?! bai nao, gotta become an hero...
Originally this was going to be one of those comics in which the characters wear the same thing every day, but I decided to change that because it was boring. Some of you might say "Dragonestea my fine chap, dashing and intelligent though you may be, I can't help but notice that it seems odd that you have now had two characters in hoodies coming off of summer break?" ah yes, but remember they go to school pretty high in the mountains, and it's a bit cooler up there. Not usually cool enough to have to wear a hoodie in the summer mind you, but every now and again the weather may be unseasonably chilly providing me with an excellent excuse. "But dragonestea," you might say, "witty and breathtakingly handsome though you are I might point out that Cass was running around in a sports bra yesterday." It is at this point that I tell you to shut the hell up.
I really suck at indoor scenes. It's okay if I have a pencil ant a straightedge, but the line tool in photoshop is no substitute. Also I'm training to be a penciler, not a colorist, so my color choices are really bad. Thankfully this comic calls for a lot of outdoor scenes, but every now and again I have to do something like this. I never like how these rooms look.
@Liz: That is an awesome explanation! Entirely wrong of course, but still awesome.
