And so, today is the fourth of July. That special time of year Americans celebrate the day that the finally decided "Hey, the British are gone. What the heck are we going to waste all this explosive stuff on?" Even then, those intrepid and hardy founding fathers of ours knew that we couldn't simply give all that stuff back to the French whom had loaned it to us. That would defy the rules of French/American interactions ( They call us idiots, we call them stuck up and agree to stay off of each other's sides of the bedroom. ). And so, the founding fathers set a precedent for all guys to follow and did what seemed most logical. Namely, blow up large objects via primitive black powder and cardboard tube devices ( In fact, the founding fathers were just a bunch of light-hearted guys. That whole "Boston Tea Party" thing was just a hilarious prank that the brits took way too seriously. ). And so, every year we honor those incredible men's decision to start blowing stuff up by blowing up a bit more.

The rest of the world simply stuffs cotton into it's ears ( Especially Canada, who prefers it's violent revolutions to be relatively non-violent and goes to bed a bit earlier.) and hopes that the French might just maybe be right this year and we'll actually blow ourselves up instead of our old refrigerator.

worstcase: I think we all know people like this. Heck, some of us probably are people like this.

It's a real shame he didn't find something better to do with them before removing the hands from his body codylove.

Exactly Matt. That was half the founding father's reason for starting a war to take our country from the Brits. What fun is there in destroying things if you have to pay for the damage?

Me too Claire!

I actually modeled that off of my personal cheap-o Bic lighter.

And welcome to more new folks. I never knew we had this many people on DrunkDuck reading comics.

Aww! that lighter's almost as big as him!! I like how that firework is colored like the Earth - so it's almost like the he's going to blow up the world.

And Last Words on the front page feature bar definitely made me happy when I saw it!!

Yes Quiche! And the excitement apparently makes you start talking in Shakesperian English! ;p

Better late than never Ziffy. Nice to see you around.

Last I checked, I think there was one guy in Switzerland who still read his owners manuals before using appliances tom.
