a little background of the person who writes and draws the comic

Claire Leona

Hi, I am the typical, young adult, twenty-something, fresh out of college girl who is still trying to plan out the next ten years of her life. I am from Southern California (San Diego to Los Angeles) but was raised with midwestern values. I was labeled the shy kid in elementary school but quickly came out of my shell once I moved to California when I was a teenager. Therefore, I have always seen myself as an introvert in the body of an extrovert.

I began drawing my webcomic during Spring Break of 2007. I have been an avid reader of several different webcomics since 2003 and decided to stop being an observer and make one of my own. I draw constantly in my spare time and when I'm not working on the next page of my comic, I'm working on random sketches.

I have been asked on more than one occasion if KD is an autobiography or at least based off my real life. At the beginning, I made a point to keep "Leona" and myself totally separate, but somewhere along the way, she started to become an alter-ego of sorts. A lot of my true personality shines through Leona in her actions and the way she talks. I wouldn't say that my life is any more or less exciting than hers, but she does get into conflicts that I would never dream of falling into. Another thing is that we both share the same name, the same age, have black hair and dark eyes and majored in Art History from the same University.

My favorite actress role model is Monica Bellucci.
