And regarding the present storyline, a couple of spoilers...the "Immortal Lovers" that Sappho mentioned in her poetry were Mnasidika and Timas. In my early research I was looking over some of the names of Sappho's students, and learned that one of them was named Mnasidika--a name of Spartan dialect, which meant "In Remembrance of Justice". There is later mention in a footnote of Edmond's book about a woman named Pleistodika, a vigilante, whose name meant "Ultimate Justice", but--oh, I'm getting WAY ahead of myself.
Suffice it to say that the true story of Sappho is stranger than lesbian fiction.
So there's where the whole series stands.
