I really hope that last panel captures what most people thought of when they read her last statement in the story. I definitely had the feeling she was mostly resigning herself to her fate though she mourned it. That was just my view, though.
awesome idea for a comic! one of the few hemmingway stories I actually like. although i wish you had more detail. Hemmingway's sparse adjectives would leave an awful lot of room for invention for something fully illustrated
