Sorry, everyone. I just couldn't get a strip done for today. After a job interview Thursday, we had to catch a ridiculously early plane for Dallas -- which would have been less ridiculous if I didn't have to change plans last minute to fit in the job interview 6 hours away from home the afternoon before. We got back from Texas yesterday evening and were exhausted, so after I fed my rats, and unpacked, I decided to postpone Gelotology and watch a Detective Conan Movie (Movie 13: Raven Chaser).

My job interview went well. I was confident and relaxed. It was weird because I didn't feel any pressure. I usually feel REALLY nervous at interviews, and this one would be a dream job. It was nice to be back in WV. (*Country roooooads. Take me hoooome...*) I won't know more about the position for at least a month.

I enjoyed DWEX. People mostly walked past my table the way they surf past my pages when browsing the internet. ("Ack! My eyes! Next comic plz.") But I did get to hear real life people laugh at some of my Gelotology strips, and that was a pick-me-up. There was a guy interviewing people (me too!) for some kind of podcast I think. Mostly, I just enjoyed meeting my buddies from Drunkduck and making a few new connections including the super cool Hannah and my new arch nemesis Rebecca. After the expo, all the coolest kids went to a pasta place, and that is where we discovered these lovely stained glass windows that were apparently "donated by Italian people."

I did draw a strip at the airport in Dallas. I hope to have it posted later this week.

So which state did I hang out with you in?!

A drunken state? A state of emergency? I dunno. It could have been anywhere... The only thing there that suggested Texas was Twin Peaks... Yee haw!

QUOTE:
That book looks great, actually both do! That's a used books book right!?

I had seven volumes there and Gelotology. But I didn't sell any. People asked about Gelotology, but I couldn't get copies in time for the expo.

@amanda: Dave's vest misses you. ;_; Also... Free Hat!

Yay, arch-nemesis XD The trip was a good time - I laughed when I saw this picture. Donated by Italian people indeed, haha.

Great to meet you and Dave (and Dave's vest) - you're even cooler in person than you are online and that is a difficult thing to pull off. I'm always pleased when I meet people I've previously only met online and there's no awkwardness or anything at all. Hurray!

And lots of people just walked by our table, too - the hat drawing was the only thing that kept 'em longer than two seconds XD

Sounds like you were SUPER busy, I'm amazed that you were able to make a post, thanks so much, please rest up!

Er, wait... I interviewed in WV where the job is, of course.

The expo was in Dallas.

The two events are unrelated.

(Twisted fate put them so close together on the timeline.)

@royce: That's correct. I grew up in WV and got my degrees there. My brother lives there now as well.

Let's confuse things more!

I currently live in VA with my parents. We had to drive to WV on Wednesday to get my brother and come home (to VA) via Hawk's Nest on Thursday for the interview. But, we had to leave our home in VA at 3 am Friday because the airport is in NC, a two hour drive from our place in VA.

Hi, Vickie: Are you talking about Dallas, TX? WOW! I spent most of my life in Ft. Worth.

Just a bit confussed, as usual, you interview in Dallas and the job is in WVA. Am I right about that? It's a beautiful state. My son and grandson live there.

Hah! I never get to hang out with the cool kids. Know why? 'Cause they all went to Dallas is why!
Sorry I couldn't make it this time, I would've liked to meet you in person and I'm long overdue for a change in scenery. Who knows? I might make it next time.
