The Theme

Amber, the red sprinter, has known Auron from the day she first hatched.
He cared for her, fed her, played with her, the whole shebang!

Your job, is to show this relationship in either visual or literature form.
Pick any time-line you like, be it as Auron finds the egg, as the egg hatches, or even as he's taking care of the baby sprinter hatchling and watching her grow.

Anything that comes to mind, go wherever your imagination takes you, and show the great friendship that only comes between a rider and his mount!

The Characters

Auron: an odd looking kid with chalk-white skin, sky-blue hair (that just brush his shoulders), red eyes, elfish ears (not yet fuzzy at the tips) and a lion-like tail (long enough to reach his shins). A serious kid with a playful manner, loves to climb trees and explore the woods. Enjoys apples and hot drinks and has a curiosity with books. Makes his home in a barn (belonging to the Hollow Family) and is under the care of Richard Smith. Age can be anywhere between 10 and 16 years old.

Amber: A red sprinter with purple markings, golden/yellow eyes and a horn (when first born, it has one notch, and every 3 years a new notch is added along with its length). Loves to roll in the mud and eat melons. Sticks to Auron's side like a chick to its mother hen for the first 2 years of her life before she becomes less clingy and more mature. Doesn't reach full sprinter size until her fourth year (full grown sprinters are slightly bigger then a horse). Age can be anywhere between her hatching (birthday) to 5 years old.

• Entries must be sent in before or on the day of the deadline. If for whatever reason your unable to do so, the deadline will be extended for an extra 10 days.
• Only "one" entry for each section.
• You have your choice of either the Fanart or the Fan-fiction. If you want to enter both, go ahead ^_^
• You can use any kind of art style for the Fanart section, be it a black and white sketch or inked line-art, colored traditionally or by computer.
• Fan-fictions must have a title and be written with as much proper grammar as you are capable of. I won't count typos or miss spelled words, but I won't enjoy reading something like: "get bck b4 3 n dont b L8"
• You can write your Fan-Fiction as long as you like with as many chapters as you like. but be sure to separate your paragraphs and not write one huge blurb.
• Have fun and be creative.

Q: Who are the Hallows?
A: They are the family who adopted Auron when he was found half dead in the woods at the tender age of three.

Q: What race are they?
A: Human.

Q: Why does Auron live in the barn if he was adopted?
A: Before he was "officially Adopted" by the family, he was actually found by a young woman named Rebecca Hollow, who hid him in the barn afraid that her family would reject him because of his strange appearance. By the time he was known to the family and properly adopted, he was too used to the barn to really leave it and live within Hollow Manor.

Q: Who are Rebecca Hollow and Richard Smith?
A: Rebecca is Auron's savior and had tragically died when he was 5 (no more will be said beyond that). Richard was her fiancé who took custody of Auron after her death. He's also the family tutor and librarian. He's about 27 years old, camel colored hair, blue eyes, and wears glasses. mild mannered and often seed carrying a book or three wherever he goes.

Q: Can I make up other characters for the Fan-Fiction?
A: Yes, as many as you like within reason.

Q: Can I add my own character in the picture/fiction?
A: No crossovers, sorry.

Q: Can I draw Auron and Amber at the age they are in the comic?
A: I prefer it if you drew them younger, but if you insist, I have no problems with that.
