Enya and Adrik are so use to picking what they wear for purely aesthetic reasons (to not draw too much unwanted attention) that they forget that clothes serve an actual functional purpose to anyone who actually is bothered by the elements. It doesn’t help that as Hopes age their physical bodies become a lot less impacted by many things including weather and fatigue and so traveling with Zel, Fae’s Aunt Shelley, was much simpler than traveling with Fae. But that’s not an excuse for the rudeness.
Enya sometimes forgets that she’s supposed to keep up the pretense that the physical realities of life don’t affect her but in truth keeping up her current appearance takes a lot of her energy and concentration. She’s got a massive headache and is extremely exhausted at the moment but will only show small signs of that on this page and one of the last pages of the chapter. She’s had millenniums to learn how to keep up her pretenses. I try to show that her appearance subtly changes when she goes into her full glowing state because she does have to shift some of her concentration off of keeping up her physical appearance but I’m pretty sure my art’s not quite there, yet.

I never really thought of it that way...You're spot on but that's definitely not the terms I've been thinking in. I've been stuck thinking in terms of what Enya wants others to not see instead of the entire impact of her real form on her assumed form (thanks for breaking me out of that mode of thinking! :) ). She doesn't care nearly as much about her glowing as any Demi lineage using an active power would glow a bit and she figures if someone happens to see her using an ability they're going to think she's Demi lineage anyway so why bother with toning down the glowing. Your comment about her eyes last update is what prompted me to write about Enya this update as she intentionally keeps her eyes closed to hide what she is from an accidental observer. That and she doesn't want to temporarily blind anyone. Looking into her eyes while she's using many of her abilities would be like looking into the sun due to her compact frame. She's quite a bit less compact in her actual form.

so it is not that she has glowing powers but rather that her true form is a golden glowing goddess, which she consistently hides from everyone. When using her powers she cant afford to focus any attention on hiding the glow. cool
