Very early in my main comic, Grandma used a simple machine that shot "Jag" spirits at Xara in an attempt to bring her to heel. The technology frightened Xara. However, Xara figured out a way to break the vassel, unfortunately unleashing its entire contents upon her. Xara never got over that fear, but I've not explored it much in the main comic. Now, I've got the opportunity right here!
