Today's comic is more of an attack on the media than Susan Boyle... I don't really get all the attention she is getting. Granted, she is a great singer and deserves to be recognized for her talents... But, how those talents came to be recognized and popularized seem kind of odd to me. The whole "don't judge a book by it's cover" personified is nice and all... But if this is the kind of "story" that captures the poeple's attention and garners their interest... well then, we are screwed when comes to informing people about the need for social and political reform... It's a sad state of affairs when an ugly duckling with an angelic voice trumps ethnic cleansing in the news... That's just my take on that!

" 'Stop The Presses'...The ugly British lady still has a beautiful voice...", KAR-POW Susan Boyle! Actually I'm on your side with that, I mean she's nice and she can sing sure, so? I didn't get it at all until I realised; Britain's Got Talent has never actually had any talent on their show!
Add to that, our 'obsessed with youth' culture suddenly noticing that people over twenty can be interesting too, and you pretty much know the hows and whys of the 'Susan Boyle Syndrome'.
Now if only I could get to the bottom of 'The Keith Olbermann Strain'...
