I think that of all the members of the club, Saturno and Alpha take their studies more seriously than the rest. Venus, Nike, and Vinchi do their human studies things for fun. They enjoy it. It's like a game to them. But Saturno and Alpha take their goals so seriously they can go a little crazy. I will develop this more in later pages.
There's this really good (completed) webcomic out there that's about studies taken so seriously they go wrong.
This chapter was inspired by it.

...isn't he a shapeshifter? Can't he unmake them? Of course, I've never tried ungrowing feathers or fur... I hear it can be a pain. I guess this is just easier when it comes to the fine details like that.

I think these last couple of voiceless pages have upped the tension more than most other (if not all other) pages so far. Brilliant execution!
