At long last, another chapter begins.
I've had this cover painted for months, I finally assembled it with text just this morning.
I'm going to quote the venerable Douglas Adams on this one: "I like deadlines. I love the whooshing sound they make as they fly by."

I have been focusing my art efforts on Thread of Valor* at the moment, but now that round 2 is submitted, I have a little bit of breathing room. Yes, I know the sequential pages are next, but those need only wireframes, until the script is set. Only then does the real work begin.
Anyway. I'm not going to project when I'll get the next page ready - if I make a prediction, it'll surely be three times that long. So - I promise only that the story will continue, and I will update as soon as I'm able.
See you next time.

In the Prologue :

A scouting party of dark-skinned elves is betrayed and ambushed by a rival tribe.

A family of noble elves discuss the fate of a mixed-blood child.

A mortally wounded spellsword casts her last Working, and invokes the interest of the gods.

The Shadowlight family is assaulted by a rival House, provoking the sons to tap a forbidden power.

In The Unraveling :

Every seventh year, the dance of the heavens presents a conjunction of the moons and the Fey Stars. In the Dark Empire, this is honored as the Mirenth V'Rex , or the Festival of the King. For the fortnight leading up to the event, the Empire opens her borders, and Che'el d'Mzill Vaarture Olath overflows with the wealth of hundreds of subject states and neighboring races. Thalia d'lhar Rex, a notorious half-breed with interesting political connections, escorts the third generation of Swifts to the Festival to trade their superb weapons. Climate changes and imperial politics make the festival very tense, as Thalia must pit her wits against the weight of tradition and greed in the shifting sands of the Empire.
