I was just linksurfing, finding lots of boring timewasters, when I stumbled onto this hidden little goldmine. Most pleasant surprise I've gotten in a while. Amelius, i don't think there are too many characters, it's the fact that people cannot comprehend so much, but I think that having all of the characters is what makes your story so good, cuz it shows what is going on in other peoples lifes, not just our little friends in there house.
