DAJB: You know, the point at which I realized that writing in English was becoming second nature to me was when I started mixing up phonetically similar, but semantically distinct, English words - that rarely happens in early stages of acquiring a language, as you usually identify words by their semantic connection with your own native tongue. Just saying :)
