I think she means that she exists in both futures WITH HER POWERS.
Her powers are a result of the Dan-as-the-greatest-hero future, which was an alternate future where he wouldn't die, whose scientists decided to give her powers and send her to the other universe out of pity.
So, first and beforemost, her "future" shouldn't count, it's alternate. And maybe she even CAUSED Dan's downfall. We already know she flattered his ego a bit.
Though, with the knowledge that he was going to come back from death, there is the posibility that the two futures are actually one and the same. The scientists didn't know that Dan had died, maybe he cheated whatever they were using to send her to have her sent to the past and kick all in motion. Seems like the kind of thing Paradox would do. As of her recollection of him, she was young and naive, she didn't see him as "evil".
Hell, maybe she's her own grandma or something. Is Dan immortal?
