Greetings, everyone.

I know it's six months past time to put up a page reading "INTERMISSION", but I wanted to do so, in order to relate to Aurora's readers that:

(a) Aurora is not dead, defunct, or abandoned;

and

(b) Her adventures will continue after this indeterminate hiatus ends.

On the other hand, this may be the last page of the Drunk Duck series "Aurora of the High Seas".

Allow me to explain.

For starters, the title is all wrong for the character. The current storyline will take place at sea and in tropical environments, and I have certainly invested a lot of time winding up to that pitch. However, Aurora is not Captain Jack Sparrow. She is not a pirate character. She is a wandering fantasy warrior, like Conan.

Second, the comic strip format I originally chose was a mistake. At the time, I decided on this approach, because I knew I was a meticulous and often slow-moving artist, and because I was interested in promoting it as a comic strip on 'Clickwheel'. I never got around to posting Aurora on Clickwheel, however, and, over time, I have come to realize that I want to self-publish Aurora in print volumes in the future, in graphic novel format.

Print comics of the 22-24 page variety, in my opinion, are obsolete (and dying), but graphic novels will be with us for some time to come. I see Aurora as a multimedia character with print
graphic novels in the future. What this means is that I need to revamp many of my previously published pages from 'Aurora of the High Seas', with new art, new details...lots of new added story content.

If I'm going to go to all that trouble, I may as well redo Aurora and create a new webcomic. There are already existing pages drawn, at least one of them 100% finished, but I'm not going to post them now. I'm going to reboot the character first. So this page exists to announce that will be coming soon.

Additionally, I may self-publish Aurora in my own web universe. I am looking into the possibilities of doing so, and of merchandising all manner of things on her pages.

So I have a lot of stuff percolating behind the scenes with the character. Do not despair that she is now frozen in time at a cliffhanger moment. She will be rebooted.

Meanwhile, while these decisions and web plans are being hatched, if you are a fan of Aurora, please link to Allen Steadham's delightful crossover fantasy comic, "Off Hours", where you will find another incarnation of the character---in the form of 'the actress who plays Aurora', Stephanie Parish. If you check out the current 'Off Hours 4" story arc, I think you'll enjoy my ten-page superhero sequence depicting a super-powered Stephanie. You can get there by heading over to: http://www.drunkduck.com/Off_Hours.

*mumbles to self* Dang it, I'm late again and missed the New Year's return of Aurora. Now what do I do?

I will look forward to any new incarnation of Aurora. She's a great character and "Off Hours" is a hoot, too. Best of luck on your new projects and efforts.

Excellent! Aurora is a woman well worth waiting on, as I said after I met her more than 15 years ago in "Big Beauties of America"! You'll both always have a fan in me, unless Aurora meets Jenny Craig and doesn't punch her in the jaw...
Thanks and good luck!

When I look at this page, I think "Don't Mess With Aurora!" Lovely rendition, Titan. I love the cape, and I've always liked hair covering one eye. It gives her more the dangerous edge we know she possesses.

And thanks for the plug. Seriously, folks, Titan's Off Hours pages are indeed the stuff of comics legend in the making! Go lookee! :)
