| | trevoramueller | Remember WAY back in the day when Susie went in for a job interview, killed the dude with poison, and then landed herself her first job...and then we got distracted by a Birthday story for Laura and a photo comic story arc about Waffles the Cat?
Well, it happened. And now we're going to see her first day of orientation in the next few pages, before I just into the next large storyline.
I had wanted to take advantage of her getting a job and tell a few jokes with it, but kept getting distracted by other story opportunities. The fact is, I like the idea of Susie having a job and there are so many jokes that I can tell about her working in food service (having worked in food service myself back in the day). I didn't want the opportunity to pass me by with the next story arc, since it's going to be a longer story.
Anyway, enjoy the update and I'll see you all next week (after Thanksgiving. Don't die trying to get your holiday shopping done). -Posted on Nov 21, 2008 | | User: trevoramueller | | | Wow, way behind on answering comments. Sorry about that, but it's been a busy week. Bought Fallout 3.... ;)
krrack knut: I hope that you enjoy this story, and that I'm able to make it "awesome." In fact, having read your comment, I went back and started rewriting the ending a bit, which was a little anti-climactic.
Fitz: Who are you referencing here? I mean, the girl looks a little familiar....
And as for photo Susie, I did say that she didn't exist in photo world, but I did take some pictures of my friend who looks like a blond Susie...I'll try to post them somewhere soon.
Steely Gaze: I tried a new coloring style with this page, which helped the process to be a little faster. Which is the primary reason that I don't like doing the color pages - it takes an extra 4-8 hours to color the pages! I like how they look at the end, but there has to be a faster way to do it. This technique cuts that time down to 2-4 hours.
amanda: I think Susie's going to start having a few different outfits....I have some designs....
kyupol: Glad you dig it, my friend.
Brogan: Thanks for reading!
Warpedwenger: I like this character too, the more I wrote him. I was thinking about getting rid of him, like the guy who interviewed Susie, but maybe I won't...we shall see. ;)
lba: Very true! I tried to keep the same color scheme going as I had during the interview, and totally forgot about the blue uniform for the girls. However, I've already come up with an explanation for that - not unlike the colors for Star Trek!
seventy2: Ah yes, the deals. I try to avoid going out on black friday, myself. Amazon.com had some nice deals, and I didn't have to brave the crowds to get them.
croxtonhas: Thanks, glad you like. -Posted on Nov 28, 2008 | | User: croxtonhas | | 5 | | gold star work! -Posted on Nov 25, 2008 | | User: seventy2 | | 5 | | black friday cometh...and then the deals...oh the deals... -Posted on Nov 24, 2008 | | User: lba | | | By my expert observation as a customer at McDonalds, any job involving buttoned polos is guaranteed to be pure hell.
Pink just means it's a form of hell in which you're doomed to wear fashion disasters forever too. -Posted on Nov 23, 2008 | | User: Warpedwenger | | 5 | | Great character! I can totally see that dude workin at Starbucks. -Posted on Nov 21, 2008 | | User: Brogan | | 5 | -Posted on Nov 21, 2008 | | User: kyupol | | 5 | | lmao -Posted on Nov 21, 2008 | | User: amanda | | 5 | | Hurray, Susie has something other than a soggy nightgown! Lookin' sharp there, lady! -Posted on Nov 21, 2008 | | User: Steely Gaze | | 5 | Uh-oh....
You know, I'm still a big fan of the black-and-white strips, but suddenly I've grown a new appreciation for your coloring. I don't know why exactly, but I do know why this page in particular wouldn't be half as cool in good old black-and-white. Why? 'Cause of Susie's pink uniform of course!
That alone made me chuckle upon seeing this page. Good for her to get to wear different thing. ;) -Posted on Nov 21, 2008 | | User: Fitz | | 5 | | Don't at least two co-workers sliiiightly remind you of someone? Of two someones, to be exact? And yay for Susie! It's just too damn bad she didn't make it into the photocomic somehow. -Posted on Nov 21, 2008 | | User: krrack_knut | | 5 | I Foresee That This Story-Line Will Be Awesome.
