| | trevoramueller | I'm a little nervous about putting this page up, only because Laura hasn't been talking to me for a few months now, and may not think that it's a joke if she reads it. The intention isn't to insult or pour salt on any wounds...it's just to be silly and funny.
But yes, she's been dating someone else for a while now...and yes, I did name my new TV Cynthia. To be fair, I made the purchase before I was downsized (but had to pay for it after the fact, which sucked). The TV is absolutely awesome! 42" LCD 120hz, and it's an LG brand (which is Korean). It was the price that I wanted and the hook ups that I wanted, but a little sooner than I had anticipated buying it.
I figured it would be funny to compare a piece of technology to a girlfriend, because the truth is that when you're single all you really have is your stuff (and friends, naturally). However, stuff doesn't ever really bring you happiness - so to imply otherwise makes a silly joke.
So I started thinking about things that you would do with a girlfriend, and how silly it could be to do those things with a TV. Like go on vacations! I wanted to include other things, and possibly do some more awful photoshop jobs (done awful on purpose), but I thought it took away from the joke. For example, I was going to put sunglasses on me and the TV on the beach shot - very obvious that we weren't wearing those when the photo was taken. I was going to include a goth club scene or something, and put a ball-gag over the TV. Little things like that.
Perhaps another time....
The next update will be the last photo update for a while, and will kind of explain the differences between photo Trevor and illustrated Trevor - which will hopefully make for a good segue back into the illustrated pages.
Happy Halloween, everyone! -Posted on Oct 31, 2008 | | User: trevoramueller | | | kyupol: Nothing wrong with putting a little reality into your stories. It helps keep things in reality, and helps the audience relate to your characters some more. Also, it's easier to write about personal experiences (for me, at least).
Agham: What's not to love about that TV? I mean, I spent enough on it...it's kinna like a girlfriend, in that respect. Granted, it doesn't help with chores around the apartment, but it does help keep me plenty entertained. ;) -Posted on Nov 10, 2008 | | User: Agham | | 5 | Damn it's a TV set.. What's to love about that?..
..okay maybe a 'little" lovable.. A shit, alot Fine! -Posted on Nov 09, 2008 | | User: kyupol | | 5 | life drama finds its way into webcomics.
Interesting. -Posted on Nov 07, 2008 | | User: trevoramueller | | | Steely Gaze: I think it means that Halle's jealous of my amazing ability to attract 12 year olds and pantless vets. ;)
albone: Don't cry, sir. Unless they are tears of laughter and joy. :D -Posted on Nov 06, 2008 | | User: albone | | 5 | | Man, I don't know whether to laugh or cry. So, I will do both.... -Posted on Nov 04, 2008 | | User: Steely Gaze | | | Trevoramueller Said: Steely Gaze: At least your computer doesn't say something creepy like, "Hello Dave," every time you turn it on. Or enter the room. Or enter the bathroom....!
Don't be silly!
My name's not Dave. It's Joe. :)
Oops, gotta go. Halle's complaining that you're a bad influence on me and that I should cut off all contact with you immediately. Something about the "dangers of the Bald Man", whatever that means. -Posted on Nov 04, 2008 | | User: trevoramueller | | | BetaJess: To be fair, I have yet to see you in a bikini....

Out of curiosity (because I know you didn't name it), what would you have named your computer....? ;)
Halle. And I would sprinkle rose petals around her monitor every time she booted up. Heck, I'd even change the monotonous Windows startup sound to better reflect her lovely voice and personality, welcoming me home each day.
See? Completely normal! :P -Posted on Nov 04, 2008 | | User: BetaJess | | | Wow, your girlfriend is really hot. I'm so jealous.
...wait... No, I'm not. I look better in a bikini, and since I'm in Texas I can wear that bikini almost any day of the year.

I might try to make it still....
Warpedwenger: The TV is awesome, but not as awesome as friends. It get lonely watching TV by yourself. :)
amanda: Oh good, I was trying to make it very friendly and cute. However, I do want to add that extra panel (see my first comment back).
Fitz: I like to watch Return of the Living Dead 3: Zombies in Love every year for Halloween. After that flick, though, we could pop in something else. ;)
spiritmonkey: Thanks for reading!

Aghammer: True, the TV's not going to ask me to buy milk or take out the trash or make the bed...not that my friend ever has to do these things. Usually, I do that stuff without being asked. Or if they're doing it already, I tend to jump in and help. I mean, not many guys are like that, right?
I'm a catch, ladies! Date me!

I love my tv too so don't feel bad (although it's not as cool as yours). No honey-do list :D -Posted on Oct 31, 2008 | | User: Steely Gaze | | 5 | Surreal, and very, very funny! I love jokes like this, that come right outta left field.
Naming your tv isn't weird...right? I mean, then naming your computer must be really weird, and you know, I would never do that. Because it would be weird.
What? No, no, I was talking about you and your strange and somewhat frightening relationship with your television. Leave me out of this. :P -Posted on Oct 31, 2008 | | User: Fitz | | 5 | | That's a real hottie you got there, brother! I am so coming over for a Halloween Saw I-IV Marathon! -Posted on Oct 31, 2008 | | User: amanda | | 5 | | Happy Halloween ^.^ You and Cynthia make a darling couple, hehe. I think it's silly and fun - not offensive in the slightest, so you have nothing to worry about. -Posted on Oct 31, 2008 | | User: Warpedwenger | | 5 | | Happy Halloween.
