I apologize in advance, because the end of this story isn't funny...it's kind of sappy. Coming from a background in drama (and writing another web comic that escalates in melodrama), I couldn't think of too many ways to make this story be both poignant and funny. I do hope that it's at least entertaining, however.

We're on the last few pages of this story arc. It's been a wild and crazy ride, updating 3x per week. I think it's safe to say that I won the dare that Josh from TokyoPop put forth before me (the guy owes me a drink next comic con we go to, at the least), and hopefully you all enjoyed the ride.

I'm not opposed to going back to a 3x per week black and white update schedule if another story comes down that warrents it, but I'm thinking about going back to the Friday updates in color for now. Your thoughts?

lba: This is going to sound sad (or sappy), but without Laura in my life, all I have left are comics. Would I give them up for her? Probably. But it would be very very difficult.

kyupol: HA! Laura hates spiders. :P

Jimeth: I think the pace of once per week is going to be easier for me, especially with the other work load. However, I'm already coming up with ideas for more black and white updates! They'll be story arcs, like this one, and I think the color updates will be gag-a-page kind of updates. No continuity.

Short_Circuiting: Yeah, I think we talked about that previously. Your color pages were great, too, but I'm also liking your story thus far. It's fun and fitting, and sometimes it's nice to get a story out more often, to keep the flow going.

Aww.

Fiday updates in color work for me! I'm going back to that, too. When I'm done with my monster. :,D

Damn, I commented too early to catch the bad news :o

I'm genuinely unhappy for you man, I hope you can sort things out.

As for the comic, do what you think is best. I like the black and white but there are certain things that only work in colour. The epic gnome storyline wouldn't have worked in this page's style, for instance.

Given what you've described of your life at the moment, I'd take it easy on comics for a while until you've sorted life out, maybe a hiatus from most of those projects. They'll be there to pick up again when you're done doing what you have to do. There are definite times when you just need to put down the pen and focus on the few people and things which matter most to you. These sorts of things are what buffers are for. Being distracted sometimes can be a good thing, but once in a while you just have to sit down and decide what your priorities are in life and go with those priorities.

seventy2: I just don't see myself able to keep that schedule, unfortunately. But I'll tell you why: I'm writing like 7 other comics right now. I'm in the process of writing 3 Temple stories (Bushido, Genocide, and another unnamed one), @$$hole!, a horror comic that may be going into the 2008 Comic Book Challenge, another all-ages story that's in early development, and I'm trying to get into Off Hours.

harryq: This is true. Also, with the whole relationship thing up in the air, I need to keep myself available for any possibility. That, and all of the writing projects that I described above for seventy2. :P

antcomics: I'm glad you've been enjoying this arc so far. I really enjoyed working on it (even if so many things went wrong in my life during it's updating...and Laura said that she didn't care much for it, either). ;) However, it's been a learning experience, and a lot of fun, and I may go back to a 3x update schedule again later this year for another story arc.

TheMidge28: Yes! I love to tease people and make you tune in again for the next update! Leaves you craving more. I'm like a pusher - I get you hooked, and you come back for more.

blntmaker: Wait for Friday...you'll find out what's in the box (hint: it's not my wife's head).

amanda: It would be a very small hat....

spiritmonkey: Thanks for reading!

A touch of the dramedy...even in a comedy is not bad either, man. Nice way to mix things up. One question though...

Ahem - WHAT'S IN THE BOX??!?!??!

Hey, not every strip has to be funny. I really dig it when a comic switches gears once in awhile. Sometimes you gotta do it. This one's real sweet; I think it's perfect.

It's been a fantastic arc!

It was a fun ride, but you need to do what fits your comfort level best.Don't try to do something that ends up building stress, that'll just kill it for you!
