Trevor and Susie continue running away from the mall security, and find themselves hiding out in a goth store. Honestly, I attend a "goth night" at a club on Mondays (it's called Factory Night, at Necto in Ann Arbor - they play industrial music, and people dress up like they belong in a Cure music video), and it's a lot of fun. However, the people who go there usually make their own outfits - they can always point out the "Hot Topic Goths," we call them. They stick out like a sore thumb.

I'm a little nervous / stressed out, because I'm just getting over a stomache flu, and I have a trip tomorrow. I'm attending NYC Comic Con this year with some buddies, and I have a flight that leaves at 9am. Here's the trick:

1) I may not entirely be over this illness, which will lower my energy level (and my ability to consume excessive amounts of alcohol.
2) Northwest Airlines and Delta are merging over the weekend, and my flight is through Northwest - with all of the crazy stuff going on with American Airlines, I would hate to get stuck here and have paid for a trip that I couldn't take advantage of. Likewise, I would hate to get stuck in NYC on Sunday, when I'm supposed to be shipping out.
3) I'm falling behind on my comic buffer, and this weekend obviously isn't going to help my productivity at all.
4) I'm going to miss Laura terribly, since I only really get to hang out with her on the weekends.

Anyway, now you know the goings-on in my life. How're things with you? Anyone attending NYC this year? If so, try to find me over by the Digital Pimp booth over in artists alley.

crocty: I like it sicker and sicker, don't you! :P

amanda: I noticed! I think if Seymour survives and gets a rebound girl, I shall have to name her Amanda now... :P

seventy2: I got home just fine, but must have missed you at the show (or just didn't know it was you). With Saturday being the big day and the con selling out completely, it's no wonder.

lba: The NYC Con was fun (more on that later, though), and I'd heard about Hot Topic ripping off from other people, but never really paid much attention to it.

As for Wizard World, I'll totally be there and be ready to get my "con on!"

...get it? As thought "con" were a verb?

Jimeth: Where abouts do you declair as your port of harbor? I live in Ann Arbor, which is full of artistic people, hippies, casual folks, goths, and an assortment of others - I mean, it's a young college town.

TheMidge28: The goth person? Well, I suppose she is rather man-ish, especially when compared to the buxom babes that have been appearing lately.

kyupol: Also, Trevor and Susie are acting rather strange for being in a store.... ;)

Proper goths are one of the only groups of people that you can actually feel safe around. it's the average looking people I'm scared of. :p

I've never really socialised much with Goths though, because we don't seem to have many around here.

I could never stand anything from hot topic irregardless of who was wearing it. I have nothing against goths but hot topic rips off too many artists with their stuff.

Have fun at NYC, hopefully I'll be around at WW Chicago.

kiandranishan: Thanks! I plan to have a fun time, and I'm already feeling tons better. I just need to be able to hold down that greesey New York pizza!

seventy2: Why are you going to miss JFK on Sunday? Is it the whole FAA stuff going on?

Also, there's nothing wrong with buying stuff at Hot Topic - I've done it myself! I own a really awesome pair of black pants (sans belts and chains). :D

Warpedwenger: The title of this comic is totally a bad word - but because it's "bleeped" out, it's more playful and funny. Right? :O

I also tend to use other playful bad words, such as "Pha-Q," and "$#!+."

Alright, that last one hasn't ever been used...but it might get used eventually! ;)

spiritmonkey: Thanks for reading, buddy!

harryq: I'm feeling much better, thanks. I'm actually going to attempt some thai food for lunch today - lighter spices than I would normally have, obviously. I tend to LOVE spicey food, and want to make sure that I can eat anything I want while in NYC.

Short_Circuiting: Oh, I plan to! I also plan to take some video footage, which I will be putting on a friend's laptop. It might take a while to get a link back from him (cross your fingers that it doesn't), but when I do I'll be sure to link it to everyone. :D

amanda: Or should I call you Seymour's rebound girl? ;)

Hot Topic outfits ARE outragious! I've seen some funny stuff in there before (vintage Nintendo stuff, for example), but most of their goth clothes are a series of belts, chains, and straps that somehow make pants....I don't get it!

And thanks, I'll be having a blast in NYC, I'm sure. I guess many DD people are going to be there, so perhaps a DD get-together will be in order.

antcomics: Yes, you totally do. If you attend one (say, Wizard World Chicago this year, or something), you best let me know so we can get together for a sandwich or drinks or something! Could be a fun time.

Also, as for the S&M shops, I've been to those before. I have a friend that worked in one. I even bought something from one...how awkward is that?!? :P

Hehe, a narrow escape. I made fun of HT goths, too...but that was mostly because all the HT stuff was so...ridiculous. I like their socks though. Tragically, I won't be in NYC - but have a great time, and I hope you feel better.

Did you know the name of your comic is a badword! Oh yeah goth parties can be fun. My ex was a Hot Topic goth though. I'm the one guy that wears t-shirts and shorts and doesn't really fit in...
