An Eight Bittie World

Cast and Crew

Because everyone loves a good cast page.

Just as a note, I know this is extremely silly and wordy.

However, the comics themselves are less than ideal for letting the

story develop in the manner I’m used to telling it in.

So, there’s a lot here I can’t do in the comic. Enjoy it or di- err, don’t.

Owen Quillion

Owen!

  Bio: Aged 33 (cryo-stasis age: 20 bittification age: 28 (20))

Son of Greg and Lisa Quillion. Entered college at age 17, left at age 19. Moved out of his parents home and conned

his old friend Anderson O’Hara into helping him purchase and fix up an old house on the outskirts of his small Texas

hometown. Lived there tinkering idly until he decided to enter cryo-stasis without informing his room-mate.

  Personality: Apathetic

Most of the time Owen simply ‘rolls with the flow’. He has a tendency to deliver sarcastic quips in a dead-pan manner

with complete disregard for the situation. In moments of crisis, he’ll switch gears and enter a borderline hysterical fervor.

  Outlook: Optimistic

Since he awakened from cryo-stasis, Owen has taken the 8-bittification of the world in stride. Although would could

argue that the shock hasn’t had time to set-in, those closest too him can vouch that he probably doesn’t much care if

the world is 8-bit, fully-rendered 3D, or a transdimensional whirlwind vortex of the eighteenth degree.

  Talents: Mechanic-ery

Owen’s father (Greg) was a well-known engineer and an aspiring inventor. While Owen never took to the craft as a

means of providing for himself, he’s created quite a few machines of his own. He’s a dab hand with any tool in just

about any setting, and is quickly adjusting to the physics of this brave new 8-bit world.

Favorite Color: Green | Favorite Cast-mate: Clive | Favorite Victim: Anderson

Anderson O’Hara

Anderson!

Bio: Aged 35 (bittification age: 29)

Anderson was a professional student from a prestigious family of old money. His interests lay primarily in the earth

and natural sciences. He was alternately a Geology, Biology, Dance (don’t ask) and Chemistry major in college. In

his fourth year of undergraduate studies, he was approached by Owen  and conned into leaving his over-bearing parents

in the dust and purchasing a number of homes in a real-estate market boom. Unfortunately, the two hit a bust in the

market and Anderson’s tuition was all but wasted except for a small profit on a few homes and a rather dingy one of

the pair’s very own. Several small miracles by Owen prevented Anderson’s parents from pursuing legal action, but

he was unable to prevent Anderson from being disinherited. For better or for worse, Anderson has never forgotten

         Owen’s actions during this period.

   Personality: Serious

Despite living with Owen for nearly three years, Anderson always maintained a stiff (and dignified) upper lip.

He understood the prospects of having to live without his parent’s support, and was able to hold a job as a

tech at the local TV station, hoping to one day become a meteorologist (“Of all things,” according to Owen).

His work ethic paid the great majority of the pair’s bills, but often lead to some distance between himself and his

co-workers. All in all, Anderson tends to be the most goal-oriented of the cast.

   Outlook: Grim

Anderson misses the days before the bittification of the world. He’s well aware that there’s no known way to reverse

the process, and it has left many of the things he loves to be far too simple and useless as a career path.

   Talents: Photographic Memory

Anderson can remember almost anything he’s seen. He considers it a curse, as Owen spent a period harassing him

with various gruesome images and often worse verbiage. However, it helped greatly during his 21-hour semesters

           during his college years.

Favorite Music: Classical | Favorite Food: Tacos | Favorite Poet: Walt Whitman

Clive Barnett

Clive!

Bio: Aged 56 (bittification age: 51)

Clive is an inter-stellar marshal, and has been on the force since his 23rd birthday. He was actually a vagrant youth,

and saw a mission in the inter-stellar law enforcement as a good chance to do something useful and entertaining.

Best of all, much of it involved lone-wolf patrolling. He spent roughly two and a half years on the force before the

Bitians began ravaging the cosmos, coincidentally bittifying his own home planet in the early waves. Since then, he

has hunted them with a vengeance, utilizing his giant ‘kung-fu fighting’ (an addition of Owen’s) space robot, Charlie.

His one-man war efforts were ineffective, as were many of the Galactic Senate’s coordinated efforts on the superior

Bitian spacecraft. An unfortunate accident while on patrol in Earth’s solar system lead him to be bitiffied alongside the

         rest of the cast.

  Personality: Driven

Since his youth, Clive has come to hold justice nearest and dearest to his heart. He sees the Bitians as forcing their will

on the weak populaces of the universe, and has sworn to stop it. Over the years, he has become hardened to realities

and while he often maintains a youthful enthusiasm, he’s by far the most experienced of the cast.

  Outlook: Grim

Much like Anderson, Clive wants to be back out in the cosmos. Due to space not being bittified, however, he is unable

to leave the Earth and pursue his mission. He whiled away much of the time since the attack in an alcohol-driven

depression, but realized eventually that if the most prudent course of action would be to find a ‘cure’ for bittification.

  Talents: Sharpshooting

Like any good cowboy, Clive can hit just about anything he sets his sights on. Unfortunately, he has a tendency to be

rather trigger-happy, but that belies his expertise with virtually any projectile weaponry.
