| | Steely Gaze | Normally, this is where I would inform everyone that I'm not dead, no matter what a two-month disappearance might seem to indicate to the contrary. But I cannot do that, because I am in fact dead.
I was killed in battle with two shiploads of pirates, fighting to protect a beautiful space ninja princess from dire danger. I gave my life for hers, and that was to be it, but fortunately a friendly voodoo priestess revived me and I've spent the last month or so relearning all the things I had forgotten when I died.
True story.
Actually though, I do apologize for such a long period of silence. I've spent most of the time finishing a short fantasy story (readable on my DA page for those of you who are insane and/or suicidal) and working ever slowly towards finally getting that elusive driver's license.
Well, I'm finally on the rebound! I'm working towards catching up with all the comics I love here on DD, and have written a pile of new scripts. AROTD returns with new storylines beginning in mid-July!
And this wonderful pic of Henry in a...unique costume, was drawn by good ol' CK and colored by a newcomer who shows some surprising promise. In fact, I'd say he'd go far, except he's my younger brother, so I figure he'll crash and burn. He's got himself a little DA page of his own right over here.

@Patrickdevine: True. I know not a more noble cause to give my life for than a space ninja princess. Fortunately, being dead hasn't hampered me half as much as I'd feared. I just move even slower now (a small difference) and bits of me fall off, which does put a cramp on my social life, but I'm working on it.
@Antcomics: I don't know, but if you ever find out where time disappears to, let me know and I'll organize a rescue party to bring it back.
@Amanda: We only pretend to work well together when we aren't killing each other. ;)
And, of course I had to announce my return with Henry. How else to appease you and the hordes (well, more than one) of Henry fans? ;)

Hey, at least YOU ARE making a come-back--JC's still on hiatus due to my own laziness and artblock. (Luckily I'm getting over it.) It feels WONDERFUL to be drawing your comic again! I feel I'm off to a good start. *I made very few mistakes on this last page, and I actually drew a couple of backgrounds!* O,O
It's good to have you back at AROTD. I'm really hoping this will spur me on to work at my own comics as well. (After all, I'm getting back into the drawing groove.) ^_~
