| | Secre | Aaaannnndddd.... I've finally decided to upload my comic. It's the first comic I've ever done, so... don't be too harsh with your judging.
This is the first of a three part introduction. I'm still working with panel borders and speech bubbles, but I'd still love to hear what else I should work on.
Edit: Almost forgot to mention that I have no idea what my update schedule will be. -Posted on Mar 20, 2008 | | User: utahgy | | 5 | | I WANT TO COMMENT TOO! -Posted on Mar 20, 2008 | | User: omegasonic0 | | 5 | | I can tell, this is gonna be good! -Posted on Mar 20, 2008 | | User: brian2040 | | 5 | | Aha! Finally, the end of Pixellated Addiction! I'm impressed by your improvement with making these things, I know I can't, good job! Update soon! -Posted on Mar 20, 2008 | | User: Secre | | | @Ruan:
From where xP? -Posted on Mar 20, 2008 | | User: Secre | | | @Zero and Zaneeba:
Damn, I was going to PQ you two about this comic, but I guess I don't have to xD... How did you find out about it? And another thing, thanks for the comments. The more comments with constructive criticism, the better ^_^.
@Zero:
Not sure, but I think Mixed Bag Comics is a good example, am I right?
@Zaneeba:
Thanks, I like my sense of humor, too ^_^. -Posted on Mar 20, 2008 | | User: Ruan Blaze | | 5 | | this intro seems fimaillar -Posted on Mar 20, 2008 | | User: zaneeba_slave | | 5 | Is Nagiini going to be in this?!
probably not... but that'd be sweet.
And I've noticed an almost slight resemblance to one of my old jokes. Perhaps not. Either way, you have good taste in humor, my good man! -Posted on Mar 20, 2008 | | User: ZeroSennin | | 5 | Well, Secre, you've started off strong. The only thing that might get you some flak is what Altimas already covered with bittages; granted, you do have comics that MIX bittages and manage to get away with it while attracting tons of fans, but people may find it majorly off-putting.
Ultimately, it's up to you. If you believe that you can do a great job with what you're doing and where you're going, go for it. -Posted on Mar 20, 2008 | | User: Secre | | | | Well, except for scrapping the entire thing, there's not much I can do about the differences you can mention. Unless someone is willing to work with them for me to make them closer to the same, anyways. I don't have enough experience with spriting to do the necessary changes that was mentioned. -Posted on Mar 20, 2008 | | User: Altimas | | | actually, yes, they are
You see, sprite bittages are made with pixels
Now that I said the obvious, lemme continue
Those pixels form unique shapes, distinguishing each other from the rest.
That's how they are made into a video game
Now, you may be thinking, "But this is a comic, not a coded video game." well, you'd be right, but the thing is, their are differences
I can tell you those differences just by looking at the banner
1) Look at the shading- The Link sprite is 100% made from a SPRITE BASE by someone, The TotW Sprites are 100% made from scratch by a professional, look closely, the Link sprite has detailed shading, but not as detailed as the TotW sprites
2) The size of the sprite's body parts- Nothing needs to be said
3) Mouth's- Link has 'em, the TotW don't, nuff said
And with that little lesson, I'm done giving advice/badgering you
and you're lucky that this is coming from me, instead of someone you don't know ;) -Posted on Mar 20, 2008 | | User: Secre | | | @Altimas:
Now that's what I call great advice xD...
For the bit mixing part, I didn't think they were too different. The backgrounds are mostly straight out of Final Fantasy games or Tales of the World: Narikiri Dungeon, as well as a few other Tales games. Are they really too different?
As for the others, I'm gonna mentally file it away, as well as check back every so often if I feel I've forgotten. Thanks for the advice, Altimas. -Posted on Mar 20, 2008 | | User: Altimas | | 5 | "Don't be harsh" eh? Well, I see SOME problems that can be improved
1) I see that you will be bitmixing in this comic, now, alot of people do not like bitmixage, so you gotta be careful about doing that
2) If you do use transparent text bubbles, do not make them TOO transparent, have the opacity at about...60-75% if you are using Photoshop, 200-220 if using Paint.net
3) Grammar, Spelling. While I see none so far, you WILL make this mistake, it's inevitable. To fix this problem, make the script of the page in Word, or something with spelling, and grammar check; Now, do not rely on it TOO much, because say if you make a mistake of putting "bat" instead of "but", spell check wouldn't catch that mistake. So be sure to proof read your script
4) Good luck ;o -Posted on Mar 20, 2008 | | User: Flashlight Antics | | 5 | | I remember talking with you about this...I like the text bubbles. -Posted on Mar 20, 2008 | Only registered members may vote. Sign up here! | |
