| | Fitz | The whole episode is not quite finished yet, but I wanted to give you all a little preview of what's to come - soon.
In case you haven't figured it out: those small greenish panels that look like a Dual Screen version of Pong - that's my artistic interpretation of how spiders see. Most spiders have eight eyes around their heads, each pair being different and serving different purposes. When looking at a potential target, first the spider uses the eyes that are at the opposite points - to the left and to the right - of its head, to get some general, lo-res image of what's going on. Then it switches to the second pair to the front - which give him a more detailed view. Then, finally, it switches to its front eyes - which he uses to "lock on" the target and estimate the distance. When it's close enough, the spider leaps. So, my depiction is not quite accurate (since the eyes at the back of the spider's head are not involved) but gives you some sort of idea. I'll be playing around with alternate ways of seeing on subsequent pages.
Hope you enjoyed today's bit. See you soon! :) -Posted on Jul 18, 2007 | | User: abitdark | | 5 | | Awesome spider -Posted on Feb 12, 2008 | | User: trevoramueller | | 5 | | Love the spider, and the conversation is still great! -Posted on Oct 16, 2007 | | User: fern | | 5 | | looks good, mate. -Posted on Jul 29, 2007 | | User: Coyotejeff | | 5 | | I just took some time to check out your strip. Ersatz: I've been dubbed Mr Encyclopedia - so you can always count on learning something new from me. And I love to draw insects, it feels kind of like architecture. I'm also fascinated by reptiles, especially turtles, snakes and lizards. -Posted on Jul 19, 2007 | | User: Ersatz | | 5 | | Cool!
