Here we meet our protagonist, Haruka Takahashi-sensei of Iron Circle Aikido. The only daughter of a Japanese businessman and his Scandinavian wife (who was once a model and never lets anyone forget it), Haruka has spent her entire life in America, specifically Ohio. She graduated from Oberlin College several years ago with an inexplicable degree in East Asian Studies and moved to a relatively large city, where she found plenty of students. God forbid any upheaval come into her life, and god seriously forbid that she get tangled up in any part of her family, none of whom she has contacted in years.
