Well I promised a big annoucement and here it is. I, along with the tallented Amelius, have agreed to do a Night School: Kojo Academy graphic novel which will, if successful, possibly be the launch of a larger Night School series.
We've been talking with Platnium Studios and working on ideas for the series for over six months now and we just signed the contracts over the weekend. Amy and I will be working full tilt on the Graphic Novel and will be launching a new Night School series on Drunk Duck. We will of course be continueing the Night School fan series which is already here on drunk duck and we are always happy to have new artist for that project.
For those of you not familiar with Night School well I can only tell you to keep your eyes open for it because I think you are all in for a real treat. I don't think it will come as any great surprise to anyone that I think very highly of most of my work, but I assure you Night School is in all serious some of my best work to date. It isn't the same as 3rd Party Fantasy, Villainy Minor, Charby the Vampirate, or Unlife is Unfair. It is its own thing with its own flavor and style.
So that is my news and one of the main reasons up until now 3PF has been on hiatus. I hope you'll find that it was worth the wait.
I know, I know but I'm afraid I've been putting all my creative energies into trying to get into print. If you want to see one of the projects I've been working on instead of 3PF Check This Out. Right now as much as I want to do 3PF again as long as I am working a full time job and doing comics on the side I've got to focus on projects like Night School which might actually see print.
As much as I love 3PF it is a sprite comic and its not going to take me any farther in the industry because I can't print it. I've tried to find artists for 3PF before without any success. I'm not saying I won't continue 3PF I'm just saying right now I've got some projects actually picking up steam which are demanding my constant attention (To say nothing of Amy, my wedding in January, my regular job, & house hunt.) which I feel I need to put ahead of 3PF for the time being.
3PF isn't the only project to suffer from project inequality. Amy & I were working on a series called "Mage at Large" which was set in the 3PF universe which had to be put on hold despite a large amout of work we put into it & Amy's own Unlife is Unfair has also been put on hiatus.
With luck and some solid sales projects like Night School which are currently eating up all our time will empower us to work on comics like Mage at Large down the road. If I didn't have to work to eat like everyone else I'd glady update 3PF every single day.
FYI: The next issue is written but it probably won't be up until Amy and myself get back from WW Chicago. I've been very involved with Night School this last week & getting ready for Wizard World. FYI I need some PQ's with off the wall questions for a new show I am working on called "The Lee McVain Show". It will be a humorous pod cast by a fictional shock jock.
